Re: Recruitment
Any race or class from any source book is fine as long as it fits the time line.
I'll even throw in a customized item/weapon, subject to GM approval.

Re: Recruitment
To be honest, I would be more interested if we could start a few levels higher, like level 3.

Re: Recruitment
Sorry, I've been thinking about this game but I find it hard to come up with a character concept.

Re: Recruitment
No worries. I've been going back and forth on the game setup. Hackers Anonymous is a bit of a misnomer on purpose. It's not meant to be centered around computer hacking, but more high stakes heists, kidnappings or rescue missions, mission impossible stuff.
Re: Recruitment
What about some sort of infiltrator droid? Like a 3PO chassis but with skills like Deception, Persuasion, Diplomacy and Use Computer to circumvent security systems and guards and allow the muscle to move in. He wouldn't be particularly useful in a fight but I'm sure there are some sort of distraction talents lying around that might be useful.

Re: Recruitment
So, I thought I'd start with talents for my character because they easily fit with the definition of what I want from my character. Unfortunately, almost all of them are only available to the Independent Droid which I can't even get into until level 4.
So I was thinking of just adjusting the Independent Droid prestige class into a regular class. Remove the preprequisites (except being a droid), half the save bonuses (from +2 to +1 Ref and +4 to +2 Will), drop a die on the hit die (from d12 to d10), same class skills as Scoundrel (4+Int, probably drop Acrobatics for Treat Injury on the list) and maybe just add the slicer talent tree as an option to pick from (since three trees isn't enough for any basic class.)
Even then I don't have nearly enough talents to get what I want but I can at least get the two talents I need. (Just a Droid and Security Slicer.)
What do you think?

Re: Recruitment
How about we bump the starting level to 5. That should give everyone the breathing room they need. I'll just scale up the difficulty.
Attribute generation can be any method you'd like as long as it's in the rulebook.

Czerka Corporation HK-88 Series Infiltration Droid
In the waning years of the Jedi Civil War, the market for assassin droids was becoming increasingly smaller due to large numbers of units already sold and the successful units clearing the jobs for the less successful ones. Czerka changed the series attention on death to one of silence with the HK-80 prototype which developed into the HK-85 unit which saw much use in a versatile espionage and assassination. Bounty hunters were especially intrigued by the possibilities of a partner in crime who didn't need a cut in the bounty except for basic maintainance and Czerka recognized this potential market quickly, soon developing new units and culminating in the HK-88 which was to be the most versatile of infiltration droids. It was capable of entering even secure locations unseen and performing a range of missions. The use of the infiltration droid was not even lost on military and paramilitary organisations who could use the droid for espionage or sundering an opponent's defenses or eliminating key military personnel without the risk of losing life or information if a living agent was captured. Much was compromised from earlier models to cut down in the cost of the unit making it more expendable by nature but not less effective at its intended purpose.
The unit with serial number AD6 was reported stolen and missing, last seen somewhere in the outer rim. It was confirmed destroyed when its main body was found damaged beyond repair. Reports suggest though that the fate of Aidee was entirely in the droid's own hands having learned to modify itself to suit new missions while employed for a environmentalist group which refused to have its memory wiped despite rules and regulations concerning memory wipes. It managed to evade these breaches with penalties because the HK-88 was successfully rated as a third degree droid. The reports suggest that independency was only a matter of time and it is quite possible the droid may have planted its own droid brain in another chassis making it impossible to trace. If it were to adapt to the chassis of an unassuming droid it would make its infiltration specialty all that much easier.

Re: Recruitment
Moonda was born in space to a group of pirates plying the space lanes. He didn't see the surface of a planet till he was in his teens after his father was killed boarding a freighter out of Dantooine. His mother took them to Sullust, where they tried to fit in and lead normal lives, but Moonda hated his life there and it wasn't long before he was getting in trouble for fighting and gambling in school and soon after he decided to make his own way. Since then he's been crewing freighters as often as pirate vessels, where ever the work takes him.
